Terms of Service

Last updated: 24 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and the operator of RealNotes (“the app”, “we”) for your use of the app. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app. How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

1. Who can use the app

2. Your content

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

4. Plans, limits, and fees

5. Third-party services

The app relies on third-party providers (such as Supabase, Vercel, and Resend) and offers an optional integration with Google Drive for attachments. Your use of that integration is also subject to the provider’s own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, including their outages, policy changes, or loss of files you keep in your own storage account.

6. Our rights in the app

The app, its software, design, and branding belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app, and nothing more. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or resell it, except as the law allows regardless of this term. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.

7. Suspension and termination

8. Copyright and takedowns

If you believe content in the app infringes your rights, report it through the Contact us form with enough detail to identify the content and your claim. We may remove content and suspend repeat infringers.

9. Disclaimers

We work to keep the app reliable and your notes safe, but the app is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including about merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that content will never be lost or corrupted. Encryption reduces risk but does not eliminate it. Please keep exports of anything you can’t afford to lose. The app is not a substitute for professional advice, and should not be your only copy of critical records.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the fees you paid us for the app in the 2 months before the claim arose. If you paid us nothing in that period, including if you use the free plan, our liability is zero. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and some places do not allow the limits above, so they may not fully apply to you.

11. Indemnity

You agree to cover reasonable losses and costs (including legal fees) that we suffer because of a third-party claim arising from your content or your breach of these terms, to the extent the law allows.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [India — confirm your jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of [city, state — confirm] have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer, you keep any right you have under mandatory law of your country of residence to bring a claim in your local courts. Please contact us first through the Contact us form and give us a chance to resolve a dispute informally.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the app after the change takes effect, you accept the updated terms; if you don’t agree, you can delete your account. The date at the top shows the latest version.

14. General

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about the app. If part of them is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we haven’t given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours as part of a merger, sale, or reorganisation.

15. Contact

Use the Contact us form. [Add a postal address here if your jurisdiction requires one.]
